Platelets are blood cells with different roles to play in the body:
The second role is the part we are interested in as injecting areas of inflammation or tissue damage with high concentrations of platelets, can encourage wounds to heal.
Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) is when a small blood sample is taken from the person being treated and put into a centrifuge or other specialized device that spins at high speed. This process separates platelets from other blood components. The result is a plasma with 5 to 10 times more protein rich platelets which can speed up the healing process.
PRP can be used to
After taking a small amount of your blood, our fully trained doctor will put your blood into a centrifuge to create the Platelet-Rich Plasma. The plasma will then be injected all over the area to be treated (for example the face and neck) to promote healing of the skin leaving it looking younger and fresher.
